House music 101!
Resident DJs Mr. Nathaniel and Michael Carerra join forces once again to bring you the best House music in Los Angeles. This week we’re hosting a very special guest all the way from Chicago.
Michael Serafini is a true Chicago legend. In his 20+ year career he has held residencies at all of Chicago’s most noteworthy events & venues including Boom Boom Room and currently QUEEN at Smart Bar with co-resident Derrick Carter. As the owner of Gramaphone records since 2008 and many years as the house buyer before that, Michael has helped to define and refine the sound of nearly every DJ to come out of (or pass through) Chicago. By day you can generally find him helping someone to find new records or taking care of business at Gphone (as it is affectionately known.) By night he can often be found supporting the biggest names in House music on the world stage. We are very excited and honored to have him as our first guest at HomeRoom on October 3rd. Come out and get your head around a real Chicago House treasure.

Get to know your residents:
Nathaniel is a Chicago house music veteran. After ten years working as a professional DJ in Chicago’s fiercely competitive house music scene he moved out to Los Angeles to pursue a successful career scoring film and television. His DJ style has been honed over nearly 15 years of playing along side of house music luminaries such as Derrick Carter, The Juan Maclean, Mark Farina, Iz & Diz, Lee Foss, Mark Grant, James Curd and many more. Nathaniel’s sound has been described as a blend of jack and groove, a little Chicago and a little UK, and a vibey blend of bass lines that criss-cross genre.
Mr. Carrera has spent over 20 years in the electronic recording industry as a DJ, promoter, and producer. His talent has brought him to multiple cities around the U.S., including San Francisco, Orlando, Milwaukee, and his hometown of Los Angeles. He’s held more than a dozen residencies over his career and has played alongside some of the biggest names in the DJ world; Doc Martin, Keoki, Derrick Carter, and Bad Boy Bill – and the list keeps growing. From early in the evening, through the peak and into the A.M., Michael provides a solid groove. No sessions are the same, as no crowd is the same.
